He is currently coordinating the implementation of the SIDA funded project on ‘Conserving Aquatic Biodiversity in African Blue Economy’ and the Norway funded program on ‘Support to Implementation of Africa Blue Economy Strategy’. He has over 13 years with the African Union InterAfrican Bureau for Animal Resources (AU-IBAR) and coordinated the E.U. funded projects on enhancing governance of the fisheries sector in Africa (phase 1 & 2). Dr Seisay spearheaded the formulation of African Union Policy Framework and Reform Strategy for Fisheries and aquaculture and Africa Blue Economy Strategy.

He is the Professor Of Fish Genetics and Breeding at the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture at the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi.
